This research explores the usage of four quantifying binomial constructions: "um monte de N2," "uma enxurrada de N2," "uma montanha de N2," and "uma chuva de N2," from the perspective of Usage-Based Linguistics. Our main hypothesis posits that these constructions exhibit varying distributions in the language, indicating they are not absolute synonyms. Consequently, this study aims to uncover the specific semantic properties associated with each construction through an analysis of their N2 components, as well as the semantic nuances conveyed by "monte," "enxurrada," "montanha," and "chuva" within each construction. Additionally, we conducted a qualitative and comparative analysis using data from the Corpus Brasileiro, focusing on the most frequent lexemes in each construction. As hypothesized, these four quantifying binomial constructions employ different lexemes, resulting in varying degrees of semantic coherence. Furthermore, even when different constructions recruit the same lexeme, the construction's meaning differs.
